1. SPORTING

  • 67 PGTC facilities. 12 of which are also accredited to support  paralympic sports
  • 16 Memorandum’s of Understanding have been signed with NOC’s
  • 8 Adizones, outdoor multi-sport zones planned

2. SOCIAL

Cultural Olympiad

  • 42 projects awarded the cultural Inspire Mark
  • Over 400 projects have taken part in Open Weekend over the past 3 years
  • 14 bandstands took part in the 2009 Bandstand Marathon a National Inspire Mark Project

Education – Get Set

  • 2406 (81%) institutions are registered with Get Set in the East Region
  • 854 schools, part of the Get Set network and able to use the London 2012 Education Mark

Volunteering

  • Over 39.000 people from the East region have registered their interest in being volunteers at the 2012 Games

Torch Relay

  • 63 Communities on Route as part of Torch Relay
  • 6 Evening Celebration Sites


3. ECONOMIC

Business Network and CompeteFor

  • 17,285 businesses are registered on CompeteFor.
  • Over 250 businesses from the East region have won contracts advertised through the CompeteFor system.
  • Over £1bn of contracts awarded to businesses in the East region 

Skills and employment

  • £1.3m has been allocated in the East to fund ‘East Links’ an Inspire Marked project which delivers training into the sports and leisure sector

 Inspire Programme

  • 141 Projects have joined the London 2012 Inspire Programme
