You don't have to wait until 2012 to get involved in London 2012 - there are a number of ways you can get involved now whatever your age or interest.
Thousands of swimmers from all over the UK are expected to take the plunge for the one mile event at Anglian Water's popular water park, which is set against 40 acres of picture perfect Suffolk countryside. Inspire Programme
The London 2012 Inspire programme officially recognises outstanding non-commercial projects and events inspired by the Games.
London 2012 is looking for a range of Inspire programme projects that fall under the following broad themes: sport, culture, education, sustainability, volunteering and business. Go here for more information on joining the Inspire Programme.
Great East Swim 2011
The inaugural Great East Swim, which is set to become one of Britain's largest open water mass participation swims, is to make a splash in the heart of Suffolk's Countryside at Alton Water for the third year.
Carnival Crossroads Roadshow
The UK Centre for Carnival Arts has confirmed the locations of the hubs for the Carnival Crossroads project across the region. Carnival Crossroads has received funding from Legacy Trust UK which is set up to support innovative cultural and sporting activities that celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and will leave a lasting legacy in communities throughout the United Kingdom. They will be working in Cambridge, Ipswich, Norwich and Southend as well as Luton. For more information on the roadshow go here.
A Get Set competition has been launched for primary, senior and FE colleges to design a version of Wenlock or Mandeville, the London 2012 Mascots, that will represent a local area and community. To get involved or to find out more go here.
London 2012 Open Weekend
Supported by BP, Open Weekend will run from 22-24 July 2011. Launched in 2008 with the start of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, more than a million people from around the UK have taken part in Open Weekend activities in the past three years.
