Realising the potential of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games

Pre games training camps

The East of England has got 66 Pre Games Training Camp facilities in the official London 2012 guide, including 12 Paralympic facilities, offering 35 sports disciplines.

 

At present Nations and Regions East is workig close with these facilities and the London 2012 county leads to insure that we maximise our oppertunities to engage with nations and sports to use the venues.

 

So far the following countries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to use some of our facilities before the Games:

  • St Kitts and Nevis (Hertfordshire)
  • St Lucia (Hertfordshire)
  • Rwanda (Suffolk)
  • Azerbaijan (Suffolk)
  • Canadian Mens Gymnastic Team (Suffolk)
  • Mozambique (Cambridgeshire)
  • Ivory Cost Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Mali Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Niger Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Liberia Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Ghana Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Benin Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Burkina Faso Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Guinee Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
  • Tunisian Paralympic Team (Bedfordshire)
